“Currently, we observe a reluctance, at least from Israel, to resort to mediation services and to engage in a peaceful way to a settlement“The Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri Peskov said at his daily press briefing, according to News.ro.
Dmitri Peskov has appealed to both sides to show restraint and stated that the level of uncertainty about what is happening is absolute.
Peskov added that Russia's offer to mediate the conflict, if necessary, remains valid, but that Israel does not seem to be interested in finding a peaceful solution at this time.
On Monday, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, categorically rejected the idea that the Kremlin leader, Vladimir Putin, play the role of mediator in the conflict between Israel and Iran, as Donald Trump recently suggested.
“I do not think that Russia, who is employed today in a high intensity conflict and has decided for many years not to respect the United Nations Charter, can be a mediator, in any way ”said the French president.
