A beach in Greece returns to the top for the first time in the last four years, climbing 23 positions spectacularly to rank, Euronews reports.

Tripadvisor, the largest platform for travel recommendations in the world, publishes every year a list of the best beaches in the world, based on the reviews left by travelers on its website.

Four European beaches entered 2025 in the Top 10 standings, including the first place.

The analysis of reviews on Tripadvisor concluded that the beach in Europe preferred by travel around the world for 2025 is Elafonissi Beach, located on the island of Crete.

She is famous for her pale pink sand, which a review published on Tripadvisor describes as “impressive” at sunset.

The beach has shallow lagoon, perfect for children playing in water, but also deeper areas for swimming and snorkeling.

Nature lovers can make cool hiking through the nearby cedar forest or see the birds on the sandbanks.

A spectacular beach surrounded by rocks in Portugal

The fifth place was occupied by Praia da Falésia, in the Algarve region of Portugal.

The beach is known for its dramatic, ocher rocks, which rises up to 70 meters above the sand in some areas. There is a path from which spectacular views can be admired on the ridge.

Down, at the seashore, the six kilometers of golden sand are ideal for the beach, and visitors can enjoy bright blue waters for swimming or plate.

According to reviews on Tripadvisor, the best time for visits is from April to October, when the weather is hot and sunny, with reduced rainfall.

Intermediate seasons, May-June and September-October, offer pleasant temperatures and less agglomeration.

A beach in Spain could not miss the ranking

Playa de Muro beach in Mallorca ranked eighth. Bordered by pines, it is in an ideal place for families, with long stretches of golden sand. Nautical sports lovers can also enjoy many options.

You can easily spend a whole day here: by walking, making beach, snorkeling, paddleboarding or swimming in the hot sea.

There are toilets, showers and lifeguards, and the parking is free. You can also arrive with public transport.

With a Mediterranean climate, with hot and dry summers and gentle winters, the best visiting period is between May and September.

The Top 10 ranking is completed by another beach in Greece

Another corner of Greek coast ranked ten.

Surrounded by mountains, Myrtos Beach on Kefalonia Island is a perfect picturesque place for a quiet day at the beach.

Travelers recommend a bath in the waters of a cobalt blue or a snorkeling session, followed by a snack at a cafe nearby.

The beach rarely becomes crowded, so there is enough room for relaxation and enjoying the atmosphere. Visit between May and June or at the beginning of autumn for pleasant weather and fewer tourists.
