Ivanka Trump, the daughter of US President Donald Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner, intends to invest 1.4 billion euros in a luxury tourist complex in Albania, writes the local press on Thursday, taken over by the Spanish agency EFE.
The A2 television station in Tirana said that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner visited the Coast City and the nearby Sazan island, a discreet visit with strict security measures.
Trump's son -in -law plans to build “a tourist port, luxury residences, gastronomic and accommodation areas on an area of 45 hectares on the island” in the Adriatic Sea, says the quoted post, according to Agerpres.
Sazan Island, where during the communist dictatorship was a military base that was decommissioned in December last year, has an area of 562 hectares and is now open to tourism development.
The Strategic Investment Committee in Albania granted a company related to Jared Kushner last year to build a resort on Sazan.
The projects are financed by Kushner's investment company, Affinity Partners, a society in which he also invested the Saudi Arabia government, according to another Albanian television station, Top Channel.
Trump's son -in -law also created a Serbian branch of Affinity Partners, who intends to build a luxury hotel on the site of the former General Staff of the Serbian army and which would be called Trump.
Serbian civic organizations protested against this project, as the respective headquarters was one of the targets attacked by NATO airplanes in the 1999 bombing and these organizations want to give that location a purpose related to historical memory.
