Another aviation tragedy in India. Seven Hindu pilgrims died after the collapse of a helicopter

A helicopter carrying Hindu pilgrims collapsed in India, killing seven people on board. The accident occurred a few minutes after the helicopter took off, officials said, in a flight that should have taken 10 minutes.

The incident took place in the state of Uttarakhand in northern India. The helicopter flew to Guptkashi, an important Hindu Pilgrimage place in Himalayas, in the Keddarnath Temple city.

The helicopter, operated by the private company Aryan Aviation, collapsed in an wooded area, a few kilometers from the pilgrimage route to Kedarnath, around 5:30 in the morning, local time, writes News.

Officials said the accident would have been caused by adverse weather conditions.

The accident took place three days after an Air India plane crashed less than a minute after taking off at Ahmedabad airport, in northwest of India, killing at least 270 people.

Boeing 787 to the destination London hit a home of a medicine faculty from a residential area, and at least 29 people died on the ground. A passenger survived.
