The third day of the Polish astronaut at an international space station
Sunday is the third day at the ISS AX-4 crew, which includes Uznański-Wiśniewski.
As she reported from Saturday to Sunday Polish time, the second full day at the ISS was intense, and the astronauts – after a period of accommodation and discharge the day before – began fully working on experiments. Among them were three of 13 projects as part of the Polish Ignis mission: the first research sessions were conducted to check the mental health of astronauts (Astromentalhealth scientists from the University of Silesia), changes in intestinal microbiocy (Human Gut Microbiota, Military University of Technology) and the impact of stay in space on the immune system (immune multiomics, wat).
In addition, Dr. Uznański-Wiśniewski placed an experiment prepared for this place to check whether yeast reinforced with a gene gene-microscopic animals known from the ability to survive in very difficult conditions-can survive in the conditions of space.
Works were planned for Sunday as part of two more Polish experiments. Polsa also informed that two projects started the day before – researching the operation of extreme algae in space (Space Volcanic Algae) and the work of the Leopardiss platform that allows testing of AI algorithms – they work according to the assumptions.
Polsa announced that Uznański-Wiśniewski is in “very good” physical condition. The state of implementation of the mission, which is to last up to 14 days, was estimated at over 12 percent.
As in its report from the second day at ISS, Axiom Space, astronauts from the USA, India, Poland and Hungary also worked on five other experiments, including research on the drug for breast cancer. In addition, the Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla joined with the prime minister of his country Narendra Modi. On Sunday, a similar video conversation will be held by Hungarian Tibor Kapu with Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
