Valeriu Stoica, former PNL leader, told B1 TV that a technocrat prime minister will not have the necessary authority to implement the necessary measures in the current context, “because the parties will not listen to him.”
“The argument you say I met many times during this period, to be a technocrat minister, we sacrifice it, he takes the harsh measures and, in this way, does not settle the parties, does not settle the politicians the severity of these measures.
He recalled about the mandate of Dacian Cioloș, the prime minister of a technocrat government between November 2015 – January 2017, which he says “was not a successful experience”.
“He was a technocrat prime minister. What happened after a year with a technocrat prime minister? It was a total failure, a total failure, even though from the point of view of the technical aspects of governance there were some good things, but from an electoral point of view it was a disaster, and PNL then settled that variant because, although the prime minister was on the PNL. With PNL, it was not recognized as a liberal belonging, but the public, the electorate, perceived Dacian Cioloș as a PNL man, although he was a technocrat.
Valeriu Stoica is of the opinion that the implementation of the measures will have to be supervised by a prime minister “who also has the authority to intervene when stepping”.
“If we think so and we insist on the Premier Technocrat, I could imagine a solution that could be compatible with the technocrat prime minister. What solution? There is the well -established program from the beginning and there will be the agreement of the parties that they will apply that program in his letter, without any deviation, but even if there was such an agreement, if there is no one, but not to be strictly, The program and which also has the authority to intervene when stepping, I do not know if this formula will be viable. You cannot put all the big base on a signature given by the parties if they are not permanently watched, ”concluded the former PNL leader.
