Panic in Victoriei Square after a snake was found. Intervention of the gendarmes
A Bucharest man called on Wednesday evening at 112, after seeing a snake in Victoriei Square in Bucharest, “a situation that panicked among the citizens who were transiting the area”, the Gendarmerie of the Capital said on Thursday.
“On 11.06.2025, around 7:30 pm, a SNUAU 112 call was received, by which a citizen claimed that in Sector 1, at the intersection of Șos. Niculae Titulescu with Dr. Felix str., A snake was observed, a situation that panicked among the citizens who transit the area,”
In this context, a gendarmerie crew who captured the snake was directed at the scene and later released in its natural environment, the gendarmerie said.
The intervention was surprised in a filming that was on social networks. In filming, you can see how the snake is under a bench, and 8 gendarmes intervene, including one from the dialog.
The gendarmerie recommends to citizens that, “in similar situations, to keep calm, to maintain a safe distance and to call Snuau 112 to request the support of the authorities.”
