The Minister of Education, Daniel David, spoke on B1 TV on Friday about the discussions with the unions involved in protest forms and said that from him there is “total opening” regarding the proposals related to the ministry, but on the fiscal-budgetary side he will “take their concerns to the Premier and to the Government so that the discussions will take place there”.

The minister said he discussed both the unions and “and other actors who are affected by these measures.”

“” We must understand that we start from a crisis situation. We do not have the budget to conclude with salaries and scholarships the whole year, because the positive rectification, which happened almost every year in the Ministry area, cannot happen this year-and then these measures were taken, through the government-law, the ministry, David.

He argues that “there is a total opening” regarding the possible “suggestions” or “proposals” on the topic of secondary norms.

“I also told the unions that regarding the orders of the minister and the action that the Ministry of Education and Research can do there, there is a total opening, if they come with suggestions, with proposals, so that the implementation of these norms of the fiscal-budgetary law will be made in an acceptable way,” continued the Minister of Education.

According to the minister, the aspects “related to the area of fiscal-budgetary legislation” must be discussed in the Government.

“As for the other requests, related to the area of the fiscal-budgetary legislation, they, there, what I said to the unions is that I will take their concerns to the prime minister and to the Government so that the discussions take place there, because they do not relate to the Ministry of Education and Research,” added Daniel David.

What did he say about the possibility of a strike in education

The Minister of Education said he wants to ensure that “from September we manage to cover salaries and scholarships”. He did not exclude the possibility of a strike.

“As I told them, if my resignation had solved the financial problems, I would have given it a lot (…). Daniel David.
