The procedure for appointing a judge at the CCR was initiated, instead of Marian Enache. Vote in Parliament Plenum on June 23

The Permanent Bureau of the Senate approved, on Wednesday, to initiate the procedure for appointing a judge at the Constitutional Court, after the expiration of the mandate of the current president of the Court, Marian Enache, appointed by the legislative forum.

At the meeting on Wednesday, the Permanent Bureau of the Senate approved the initiation of the procedure for appointing a judge at the Constitutional Court from the Senate, as a result of the request sent by the Constitutional Court. The Permanent Bureau has established the following calendar of the procedure, writes News.

Thus, the submission of the candidates will take place until June 20, 2025, the hearings in the Legal Commission and the submission of the Legal Commission report, on June 23, 2025, and the registration of the report in the draft agenda of the Senate, also on June 23, 2025.

“According to the provisions of Law no. 47/1992 regarding the organization and functioning of the Constitutional Court, the candidates can be submitted to the Legal Commission of Appointments, Discipline, Immunities and Validations by the parliamentary groups, deputies and senators ”, emphasizes the Senate. Marian Enache was appointed judge of the RCC, by the Senate of Romania, in 2016, for a mandate of 9 years.
