The Minister of Education, Daniel David, told Antena 3 on Monday evening that, regardless of the measures taken in other fields, he asked not to be expelled from education and research, nor to lower wages. “The prime minister has my resignation on the table,” the minister said.

“I said very clearly, and the prime minister knows that he has my resignation on the table: I said that in the short term, no matter what we do with the measures we take and what thoughts we have, from education and research we do not give people out, in other systems you see that discusses are discussed. In addition, we do not cut salaries.

According to Daniel David, in the medium term in the law of unitary pay “we must start as a starting point for the beginner teacher with the average gross salary on the economy and from there we discuss the other things”.

“In the long term, despite the crisis, the politician has assumed these things at my request, in 2030 we do not extend 15% of the general budget consolidated by education expenses and 1% of GDP for research, but we are gradually approaching and implementing that. I invite everyone, and to the students and the teachers … We define the mechanisms in the correct way ”, explained the Minister of Education.

Asked why he felt the need to say that he resigned on the table of the prime minister, Daniel David replied: “The prime minister knows very clearly how I discussed this mandate. I understood that the technical-financial analysis highlighted these anomalies in the area of education. Deception, as long as we allow.
