Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, that special attention in the new arming program of the country should be paid to the nuclear triad: terrestrial weapons, maritime and launched by aircraft.

Putin's statements, broadcast by state television, were made in a meeting of high officials dedicated to the country's weapons industry.

“Undoubtedly, special attention should be paid to the nuclear triad, which has been and will remain the guarantee of Russia's sovereignty and plays a key role in maintaining the balance of forces in the world.”said Putin, according to Reuters.

In total, 95% of Russia's strategic nuclear forces are completely updated, said the Kremlin leader.

“This is a good indicator and, in essence, the highest of all the nuclear powers of the world”, Putin said.

According to Putin the deadline for the next state arming program is 2027-2036.
