How did Netflix series arrive in President Emmanuel Macron's collimator
Last year's news that the popular series will move to Rome at the end of season 4 caused dismay in France, where the authorities regard it as a way to boost tourism, similar to another series of great success – The White Lotus from HBO.
Including President Emmanuel Macron, whose wife had a brief cameo appearance in season 4 of the series, was asked about this topic. “We will fight hard. And we will ask them to stay in Paris! Emily in Paris It makes no sense in Rome, ”he replied.
Macron stressed that the series is “super positive in terms of its country's attractiveness”.
“Dear Emmanuel Macron, don't worry: Emily is doing very well in Rome,” Gualtieri said on Wednesday. “And then you cannot control the heart: let us choose it,” the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtari, answered.
Gualtieri warned the French president not to “intimidate or interfere with Netflix's production plans” for the next season of the series.
Gualtieri revealed in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter journalists that he spoke about Macron's comments with Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo, and they both laughed about it.
“We see Emily's move to Rome as a confirmation that our city is becoming more and more important and we are quite relaxed on Netflix's production decisions. They know what they are doing,” he said, adding: “To be honest, we believe that Mr. Macron should relax.”
