California's governor, Gavin Newsom, appealed to artificial intelligence on his open conflict with President Donald Trump on Tuesday on the topic of military in Los Angeles without his approval, Deadline reports.
California's Governor Press Office has published Tiktok and other social networks two videos generated by AI, with a voice that is strikingly similar to that of Emperor Palpatine of “Star Wars” (played by Scottish actor in films and series Star Wars). It reads recent messages of President Trump related to the tense situation in Los Angeles, in a military tone.
The first video has a soundtrack with warrior accents, similar to the style of composer John Williams, and presents animated images with imperial soldiers mobilized to the ground, while steal destroyers float above. The threatening voice reading Trump's words begins with: “A great American city, Los Angeles, was invaded and occupied by illegal and criminals …”

The second video contains sequences from the imperial attack on the rebel base at the beginning of the movie The Empire Strikes Back (“The Counterattack Empire”). Trump's text used in the video warns that “Los Angeles would have been completely destroyed” if he hadn't intervened.
Los Angeles is the largest city in California, the liberal state led by Democratic governor Gary Newsom.
He came into conflict with Trump after the White House leader ordered, contrary to Newsom's desire, the conduct of the federal guard and to send marine prisoners to stop the protests in Los Angeles. The democratic governor announced on Tuesday that his state will sue the Trump administration, accusing the president of surpassing his constitutional prerogatives.
Regarding the video recordings now distributed by his office, Deadline notes that “Newsom is inspired here, of course, from a page in Trump's Manual”, given that the US president has a habit of publishing videos and images generated with AI, related to current events.
In February, while the conflict in Gaza intensifies, the president distributed a video generated by AI who had a completely transformed, full of beaches, skyscrapers and golden statues, with bizarre appearances of an Elon Musk generated by AI and a Trump who drinks a beach cocktail next to a Benjamin Netanyahu.
Posting has attracted harsh criticism from Palestinian authorities and neighboring Arab countries.
