“I am the victim of consumption, stop drugs”

• Context: On September 14, Toto Dumitrescu caused an accident in the Spring district of Bucharest. He fled from the accident site, and a 23 -year -old, also involved in the accident, arrived at the hospital.
  He went positive for cocaine and was arrested preventively for 30 days on September 17. On September 25, the court decided that Toto would be placed under house arrest.

On Wednesday, the police extended the criminal prosecution against him. It will be investigated for driving under the influence of drugs.

Toto Dumitrescu was presented on Friday morning at the District Court 1 to request the extension of the arrest measure at home. He described the gesture to flee from the accident site as a “lack of morality”.

He acknowledged that he is a drug consumer, but claims that on that day he had used cocaine only after the accident committed in the spring district.

“I am not surprised. I did not drive under influence, it is a suspicion without any accusations founded. Point! I consumed after the accident, yes, sorry, I am the victim of consumption, stop the drugs on the streets, to disappear. And then we will come back,” Toto Dumitrescu told Pro TV.

If, following all the evidence administered during the criminal prosecution, it is confirmed that Toto Dumitrescu caused a road accident, left the scene and was detected positively to psychoactive substances, the risk of applying a cumulative sentence is considerable, according to the criminal law in force.

At the same time, in order to achieve the essential condition of the existence of the offense of driving a vehicle under the influence of psychoactive substances, it is necessary to ascertain both the presence in the biological samples of the psychoactive substance and its ability to determine the ability to lead the perpetrator
