With regard to the managing department of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Elena Lapko and her subordinate opened a criminal case, TASS reports with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies.

According to preliminary data, the official is suspected of exceeding official powers, an official forgery and embezzlement on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and part 1 of article 292 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Her subordinate Elena Emelyanov is suspected of abuse of authority.

According to the source, Elena Lapko could have fictitiously employed her familiar to the fund. She, along with Elena Emelyanova, is suspected of illegal accrual and payment of social benefits to people who did not have the right to them. The amounts of benefits were also illegally overstated.

“In fact, the amount of damage can increase to 2 billion rubles,” the agency quoted the words of his interlocutor.

Both officials were detained.

55-year-old Elena Lapko works in position Managing Department of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation in the Krasnoyarsk Territory since 2023. Prior to this, since 2001, she worked in the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation, where she rose to the post of deputy manager of the department. It is worth noting that its former leader Denis Mayboroda was found guilty of embezzlement in an especially large scale and receiving a particularly large bribe (part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The court sent him to the colony for 12.5 years, and also fined 1.3 million rubles.
