In the Russian Federation, a secret network of camps for captured Ukrainians – the media was discovered

According to Polozov, human rights activists learned about the existence of secret prisons in the fourth year of the war by chance, from certificates of the places of maintenance of the Ukrainian military, captured in the Kursk region and near Donetsk.

Usually prisoners of war are contained in jail or in correctional colonies. But in one of the cases, the human rights activists saw the “Center for the temporary detention of persons detained for counteracting their own,” said Polozov.

He believes that it was precisely one of these institutions that was in the plot of the propaganda television channel “Star”, released in 2022. It was reported that the “Temporary Content of Prisoners of War Prisoner of Armed Forces” was deployed on the site of the former granary, but there was no more specific data.

There are at least five such centers, Polozov believes. “At least three or four we know [по материалам дел]plus there is this report – this is the fifth, ”he said. The human rights activist believes that there may be more.

Law addresses or procurement, by which it would be possible to track the existence of these prisons, human rights activists could not find. They are not included in the FSIN system, but are apparently controlled by the Ministry of Defense and the military police, the publication says

Polozov believes that in secret prisons, inhuman conditions of detention and torture are practiced, which the Ukrainian military returned from captivity tells about.

After the war ended, the practice of secret prisons can also be scaled for Russians, the human rights activist believes.
