The director of Inscop Research, Remus Stefureac, believes that the variant of a technocrat prime minister will be “catastofal” for Romanians, because there are “important decisions” to be made, and such a prime minister “will have zero authority in front of ministers, parties, Parliament”.

“I think the variant of a technocrat prime minister is catastrophic for Romanians at this time. We have complicated decisions, we also have a war on borders, we have a coalition consisting of four parties, in which no party has the majority. A technocrat will have zero authority in front of the ministers, it will have zero authority in front of the parties,” Saturday, at Digi24.

The director Inscop says that this formula “would be the most unhappy”, which will result in failure.

“At the end of such an experiment, all the pots of failure, and I think it will be a failure, would obviously break in the head of President Nicușor Dan, because he would be the only one who will aspire all the dissatisfaction. I do not think that such a formula is functional, the more in a situation of economic crisis, Explained Ștefureac.

From the technocrat government led by Dacian Cioloș (2015–2017), Romania has not had a technocrat prime minister.

President Nicușor Dan said on Wednesday, in his first press conference in the mandate of president, that none of the two variants is excluded, of technocrat and “rotary” at the head of Guven.

A first sketch of the governance program will be ready on Monday, and later the discussions on the governance agreement will begin, Nicușor Dan announced in the conference.
