Over time, even the most stable bath loses its snowiness and is covered with yellow spots. This is due to low water quality and incorrectly selected cleaning agents. Yellowness, plaque and rust can seriously spoil the appearance of the bathroom. But there are ways to return her former whiteness and radiance.
How to wash a bath from yellowness?
Depending on the material of the bath, it must be cleaned in different ways to avoid damage to the surface.
- Acrylic baths They require special care: they are sensitive to abrasives and alcohol -containing agents. For them, it is better to use gels, sprays or even chlorine solutions. Abrasive cleaning agents are strictly prohibited – they can scratch the surface.
- If you have Cast iron bath, then for its cleaning you can use products with light abrasives and special enamel compounds. However, whitening and acids can corrode the coating, so their use should be avoided.
Folk methods
If store equipment did not help or seemed too expensive, proven “grandfather” methods will come to the rescue. These simple recipes will help your bath to return a snow -white look.
1. Bleach and vinegar
- Mix the bleach and table vinegar in equal proportions.
- Separately mix food and calcified soda.
- Apply soda soda to spots and leave for 20 minutes.
- Then pour the bath with a solution of vinegar with a bleach, wipe with a sponge and rinse with warm water.
2. Hydrogen peroxide and ammonia
- Pour ammonia and 6% of hydrogen peroxide in a 2: 1 peroxide in a bottle.
- Shake several times and apply the mixture to yellow spots with a sponge.
- For complex spots, you can leave a soaked sponge for 20 minutes, and then rinse with water.
3. Vinegar and salt
- Heat a mixture of 100 ml of wine vinegar and 2 tablespoons of salt to 65 degrees.
- Apply a hot solution to the spots and wash it out after 20 minutes.
If your bath has been restored, be sure to use only gentle means, otherwise you can damage a new coating. When cleaning, do not forget to ventilate the room and use protective equipment: gloves and a mask.
