MP KO Roman Giertych, who had remained non -party until now, announced that he was joining the Civic Platform. He added that he announced his decision at the Wednesday meeting of the KO club. In these days I decided to give an example – he said.


“On these days I decided to give an example. As you know, I was non -party. Today I submitted an accession to Platforma Obywatelska” – announced Giertych in a film published on YouTube, in which he also referred to the presidential election, apologizing to, among others for “mistakes” and “inefficiency of the campaign”.
“I hope that I will not only bring a light shade of conservatism, but also a certain enthusiasm, dynamics in developing this party, so that it constitutes a core on which Polish democracy may resist” – he added.
In the description of the film Giertych also indicated that the decision – which the media has already unofficially informed – announced on Wednesday during the meeting of the KO club. He thanked “his colleagues” for “a nice reception (…) of applause declarations.”
The issue of the non -partisan of Giertych resounded, among others On the occasion of presidential primaries in Ko, during which, despite the open support of Radosław Sikorski, the MP could not vote, precisely because he was not a member of the platform.
In the parliamentary election in 2023, Giertych ran to the Sejm from the Civic Coalition list in the Kielce district. In the years 2006–2007 as the leader of the League of Polish Families he was the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Education in the government with PiS and self-defense. (PAP)
