The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, seemed on Wednesday to exclude the possibility of a full ceasefire in Ukraine, accusing Kiev of using any break in fights to re -enter, AFP reports.
Ukraine pleaded for an immediate and unconditional armistice over a 30 -day period, presenting the most recent proposal in the peace discussions that took place in Istanbul on Monday.
“Why reward them by providing them with a break from the fights, which will be used to diet the western weapons regime, to continue their forced mobilization and to prepare different terrorist acts,” Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday, in a television government.
During Monday's discussions, the Russian party stated maximalist requirements to agree an armistice, including the withdrawal of Ukraine from the four regions in the East and south of the country-Lugansk, Donetsk, Herson and Zaporojie-which Moscow claims to annexed.
At the same time, Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of being behind the “terrorist” attacks that targeted the bridges in the Russian border regions over the weekend, one of which caused a train to derail, dying seven people.
The attack, which was not claimed by Ukraine, was “directed to the density of the negotiation process,” says the President of Russia.
Instead, Russia proposed a short, two to three-day armistice on Monday, meant to allow the two armies to lift the uninhabited bodies of the soldiers on the battlefield.
The Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov, told Vladimir Putin that Ukraine rejected this initiative.
“I think this is simply a serious mistake from the Kiev regime,” he said.
The main negotiator of Russia, Vladimir Medinski, confirmed that Moscow is prepared to continue a large-scale prisoners, agreed in Istanbul, after Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, said the first stage will take place this weekend.
Also on Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said he wants an armistice to be instituted before a possible meeting with his Russian counterpart to create the necessary framework for the Guardian.
During the weekend, Ukrainian forces used drones to attack more Russian aerial bases that host bombers capable of transporting nuclear weapons. Within the operation “Spider cloth”, Kiev claims that he also hit targets 4,300 kilometers away from the front line, according to Reuters.
In this context, the emissary for Ukraine of US President Donald Trump said that the risk of escalating the war “increases a lot”.
