President of Poland 2050 Szymon Hołownia announced that on Monday in the afternoon there would be a meeting of the leaders of the ruling coalition. He added that he expected renegotiation of the coalition agreement. He also criticized the idea of the prime minister to the Sejm about the vote of confidence in the government.

Hołownia informed about the meeting at a Monday press conference in the Sejm. He expressed the hope that these would be productive conversations. He pointed out that coalition leaders must discuss the situation after the presidential election. In the second round, the winner was supported by PiS Karol Nawrocki, obtaining 50.89 percent. votes. Ko Rafał Trzaskowski's candidate won 49.11 percent support

Hołownia announced that he was going to a coalition meeting with a “very bright agenda”. “I think that we should renegotiate a coalition agreement, we should draw conclusions in this coalition agreement as soon as possible,” said the Speaker of the Sejm.

He pointed out, however, it is not about “stools”, but a clear and specific message about “what we want to do during these two years, which is our priority.” He calculated that in addition to renegotiating the coalition agreement, regular meetings of coalition leaders on cooperation should take place. In addition – in his opinion – the government should improve communication on what has been done. Hołownia said that the coalition could not be a hostage to Twitter the head of the government.

“This coalition must undergo rebranding, refreshing. We must again tell people who we are and justify the hopes that they made in our hands,” he emphasized.

The Speaker of the Sejm also referred to speculation about the possible turn by Prime Minister Donald Tusk to the Sejm with a vote of confidence in the government. According to Hołownia, it would be a bad idea and a theatrical gesture “let's marry the ranks”. He noted that today there is no problem with the legitimacy of the government in the Sejm. “This government has a majority in the chamber. However, if we want to show that we understood something from what happened, then we must first develop a new opening and come to people with a work plan,” Hołownia emphasized.

He expressed the hope that the idea of a vote of trust would not find its continuation.

Hołownia also declared that he was ready to cooperate with President Elekt, and after swearing in August 6, with President Karol Nawrocki. He emphasized that he would gladly hear about his plans to cooperate with Parliament.

“In the interest of all state bodies, there should be stability today, leading to the fact that the state works efficiently, that institutions are acting. And so I also understand its role in the Sejm, and in a moment with the president or in a moment with the president, good, working relations to maintain,” said Hołownia.

He also expressed the opinion that perhaps in Poland a discussion should be started on the selection of the president by the National Assembly. He said that the emotions generated by the presidential elections and thus the polarization of society may – according to him – not serve to maintain stability in the current, difficult times. “Countries like Germany, as Latvia somehow cope with such a system,” added the Polish leader 2050.
