The head of state announced her on January 5, saying that Kuleba was “on the Ukrainian team.”
The former head of Ukrainian diplomacy noted that he considered it “unfair” to be excluded from participation in state politics.
“For the last year and a half, it seemed to me that it was somehow wrong that we just ran away. After all, we can be stronger if there is at least some kind of dialogue. The dialogue has resumed, this is the main result of the meeting you are talking about. A stone has been lifted from my soul,” Kuleba said.
According to him, the president decided to follow “the path of unity, not rejection,” opening up to different opinions.
“I am satisfied with the president I saw. Even in 2024, when we had already said goodbye, I have not seen such a president. In my opinion, Zelensky is going through the path of internal transformation. Because you cannot spend six years in one model of power, and then wake up in the morning and become fundamentally different. Neither you, nor I, nor the president, nor the Pope are capable of this. This is the path. And I felt that he is going through the internal path of transformation of his vision of how Ukraine should be governed,” said former minister.
He also commented on media insights that Zelensky could appoint him head of the Foreign Intelligence Service. Later, when asked by journalists about the diplomat’s career prospects, he briefly answered “I won’t say.”
The issue of specific positions was not discussed, Kuleba claims.
“I’m not the kind of person who is in a greedy search for a position, because life has taught that you can be useful both in a position and without it. Therefore, I don’t know where all this came from, why it’s happening like this, and I’m not even trying to find out,” he said, adding that the president will “think” about options for interacting with him.
