Students and teachers have a day off on Thursday, June 5, when the teacher's day is celebrated, according to the collective labor contract at the level of education. Students return to Friday, and Monday, June 9, is free from Pentecost, Edupedu reports.
Although the teacher's day is celebrated every year on June 5, only in 2024 was declared a free day for teachers and students, after the general strike of the education from 2023. By 2024, no hours were held on June 5, but specific activities were carried out in school, other than teaching.
On Friday, June 6, the children return to school, and the next weekend is extended for them: Monday, June 9 is again a free day because it is the next day of Pentecost – a legal day.
There are three weeks of school until the summer vacation 2025, the last day of school being on June 20. The students of the 12th grade finish the school year on June 6, the eighth-grade on June 13 and the students from the technological and professional education on June 27.
