Marcel Boloș, the Minister of Investments and European Projects, said on Monday, June 2, that a taxation of consumption or capital could help balance Romania's budget.

Asked if the budget of Romania could be re-balancing without VAT growth, Marcel Boloș said that “Here is a problem related to the taxation of consumption, the taxation of the work, the taxation of the capital … so the analysis is done from this perspective, compared to the existing tax policies at the European level”.
“The final decision is that of the ruling coalition, but the areas where we can still have tax space for the measures we need to implement are indeed in this area of taxation or capital taxation.”, Stressed the Minister of European Funds at Digi24.
On Friday, Boloș announced that the Romanian state reports 164 billion lei annually, and from this amount 13.7 billion lei are paid for bonuses, bonuses and bonuses granted to categories of employees in the budget system.
