A Russian military plane crashed in Crimea. 29 people dead

Social media were the first to report on the crash of the Russian An-26 transport plane, as reported by Ukrainian Pravda. Their information was confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense, which reported that on Tuesday around At 6 p.m. Moscow time (4 p.m. in Poland), contact was lost with the An-26 military transport plane, which was performing a “scheduled flight” over the annexed Crimea.
After midnight on Wednesday, the Russian Ministry of Defense added that a search and rescue team had located the site of the plane crash that killed six crew members and 23 passengers. According to the ministry, “there was no impact on the plane.” It was added that the cause of the disaster was probably technical problems.
Ukrainian Pravda reported that, according to information from the military blogger Fighterbomber, closely associated with the Russian air and space forces, a Russian Su-34 bomber crashed in Crimea a little earlier. Official Ukrainian and Russian sources have not confirmed this information.
