Video two bridges collapsed in Russia, causing two trains: 7 people died and over 60 were injured / high official Russian: “Ukraine is no longer a state, it became a terrorist enclave”

Two bridges collapsed in different regions of Russia, on the border with Ukraine, causing train derailments, at least seven dead and dozens of injured, Russian authorities announced on Sunday morning, according to Reuters. The incident was qualified as a “sabotage” by Russian military bloggers and a high official from Moscow claimed that Ukraine became a “terrorist enclave.”

Reuters could not confirm independently if the two incidents in the neighboring regions Briansk and Kursk are related to each other. The areas of southern Russia have been frequently attacked by Ukraine since the beginning of the war triggered by Russia.

Seven people died and 69 were injured after a road bridge collapsed over the railway and derailed a train approaching, in the Briansk region on Saturday evening, the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations and Regional Officials.

Initially, the Russian railways posted on the Telegram application that the collapse of the Briansk bridge was the result of an “illegal intervention in the operation”, but later the message was deleted.

The governor of the Briansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, wrote on Telegram that 47 people were hospitalized. Among the injured are three children, one of them being in serious condition.

The collapse in the Kursk region took place on Sunday morning, while a freight train crossed the bridge, said Alexander Khinshtein, interim governor of the region, and Russian railways, also on Telegram.

“Part of the train fell on a road below the bridge,” Khinshtein said. He added that the locomotive caught fire, but the fire was quickly extinguished. One of the locomotive mechanics suffered injuries to the feet, and he, together with the train's crew, was transported to a local hospital, Khinshtein said.

High Russian official: Ukraine is no longer state, it became a terrorist enclave

Andrei Klișas, a high-ranking member of the Federation Council, the upper Chamber of the Russian Parliament, said on the Telegram app that the Briansk incident shows that “Ukraine has long lost the attributes of a state and has turned into a terrorist enclave.”

The Telegram Channel Basic, which frequently publishes information from sources from security services and law enforcement bodies, reported, without providing evidence that, according to preliminary information, the Briansk bridge would have been thrown into the air.

The famous Russian military blogger Seyon Pegov, known as War Gonzo, qualified the Briansk incident as a “sabotage”.

Ukraine has not currently commented on the incident.

Since the beginning of the war, in February 2022, the Briansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions, located on the border with Ukraine, have been constantly targeted by cross -border bombings, clandestine drones and incursions from Ukraine.

The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations said on Telegram that the victims' search and rescue efforts in the Briansk incident continued throughout the night, about 180 members of the intervention teams were mobilized.

Among the deceased is the locomotive driver, the Russian state news agencies reported, citing medical staff.
