Six dead dolphins were found off the coast of Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Territory. Two more mammals saw the carcasses in the sea.
After the crash of tankers in the Kerch Gulf, more than 60 kilometers of the beaches from Anapa to the Crimean bridge were polluted. The total area is 65 square kilometers. Dozens of volunteers who saved animals turned to doctors for help with symptoms of oil products poisoning.
The region’s authorities said that they cleaned 34 kilometers of the coastal strip and saved more than 700 birds. From the beaches of Anapa and the Temryuk district, 12 thousand tons of polluted soil were removed. Earlier we wrote that sand from the Anapa beaches will be toxic for at least another 10 years due to the release of fuel oil. That is how much it is necessary to restore nature after the spill of black slurry.
