The French President Emmanuel Macron condemned, on Sunday, the “unacceptable” violence during the festivities that took place in the country after the victory obtained by Paris-Saint Germain in front of Inter Milan in the Champions League final. The leader of France made the statements when he received Elysee Palace on the heroes of Saturday night's match in Munich, AFP reports.

“Nothing can justify what happened in the last hours, violent clashes are unacceptable,” Macron said before congratulating PSG's players to win the Champions League.

The police detained nearly 600 people in the contexts of the violence that took place in France on Saturday night, when the supporters went out on the streets to celebrate PSG's triumph. Two people died.

“The violent clashes that took place are unacceptable and came at a high cost: two people are dead, around 30 police officers and some firefighters were injured,” said Emmanuel Macron.

The President of France received PSG's, Spanish coach Luis Enrique, and his players on Sunday. Macron thanked them for condemning the chaos last night.

“These isolated acts are contrary to the club's values ​​and do not represent in any way the vast majority of our supporters, whose exemplary behavior throughout the season is worth praising,” PSG said on Sunday.

PSG defeated Inter Milan 5-0, on Saturday night, in Munich, and won the Champions League for the first time. It was the biggest score difference ever registered in the final of the competition-the previous record had been established by the duel between Steaua București and AC Milan, when the “red-blue” were defeated with 4-0. The Paris band became the two team in France that wins the most coveted trophy in club football, after Olympique Marseille in 1993.
