Mayor Rareș Hopincă from the PSD said on Friday that “a shabby tree was shot down over a car” and that “there are many such examples in Sector 2, where the heavy rain and wind endanger the lives and goods of people.” In this context, he accused the General City Hall of “offering too few” opinions “or not at all” for the toilet and deforestation of trees.

“This is a situation that should not be repeated and revolts me! Here, a grim tree has been shot down over a car. And it is not an isolated case! Hopincă, on Friday, on Facebook.

He asked for “real and urgent support” from the General City Hall.

“In 2024 and, until now, in 2025, hundreds of requests have been made for toilet and deforestation, but the general City Hall offers us too few or not at all. We do everything we can, but without these opinions, our work is in vain. We want to protect the people in Sector 2, but we need real support!”

The Bucharest residents received a red-time red message on Friday night, in which torrential rains, electric shocks and wind intensifications were announced, for the time interval 19:25-20:15. The alert was issued against the background of a Nowcasting Orange Code warning from the National Meteorological Administration for the Capital.
