On Friday, investigating judges in Paris questioned a group of people suspected of a relationship with the attempts to kidnap people associated with cryptocurrency business. 25 suspects were to stand before the courts. Most interrogations were carried out until the afternoon.

The Paris prosecutor's office announced that the proceedings concern, among others Attempts to abduct the daughter and grandson of a businessman who manages the cryptocurrency exchange platform called Paymium. This attempt took place on May 13 in broad daylight on the streets of Paris. Social media later published recordings, which show several masked men grabbing a woman and a child, while a parked car awaits nearby.
This test was thwarted, among others thanks to the intervention accompanying a woman. It was the third incident in recent months using violence regarding people from cryptocurrency business and their families. The head of the Ministry of the Interior Bruno Retailleau met the French Ministry of Interior in mid -May with representatives of the cryptocurrency industry, which – as the AFP agency notes – is a sign that the threat is taken seriously.
