Supply chain protection. The Ministry of National Defense is preparing a report

Kosiniak-Kamysz's signed contracts were presented to representatives involved in the issues of the defense industry: the head of MRIT Krzysztof Paszek and the deputy head of maps Konrad Gołat, as well as representatives of authorities involved in the project to write a report of the university and organization: the Military University of Technology, the Main School of Economics, the Cracow University of Technology and the Foundation Institute of Eastern Studies.
On Wednesday, the initiatives started to be initiated in March during the European Congress of Local Governments in Mikołajki: Ministry of Development and Technology and Asset, as well as subsequent universities – University of Warsaw, the Jagiellonian University and the Krakow AGH University of Science and Technology.
The initiative assumes the creation with the participation of all these institutions a special report on the safety of the supply chain in the Polish defense industry. The project aims to analyze key challenges and their solutions that will strengthen the stability and resistance of the supply chain in the Polish defense sector.
“I am very happy that we are here together, that more entities join us. I am very happy with your presence and that this way of looking at the security of the Polish state is developing. We must join forces – as we connect them in the construction of the arms industry, so we must combine them in securing the supply of components to this industry” – said Kosiniak -Kamysz during the ceremony.
He noted that the defense industry “must be self -sufficient in many issues, it must be responsible and act very quickly.”
According to the minister, Pandemia Covid-19 clearly showed what the supply chain breaking means, the inability to deliver the appropriate product on time. ” “Covid showed us how it is very dangerous, how we lose independence. When it comes to matters of independence of Poland and Europe, it is about our security. In the event of interrupting the supply chain to industry – we know that the price may be our freedom, our independence” – said the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
“We must have the independence and sovereignty of the production of ammunition and other components that are part of our weapons” – he later said Kosiniak -Kamysz journalists.
“I believe that the first version of this report will be created by the end of the year” – said the head of the Ministry of National Defense.

MAP deputy head Konrad Gołota pointed out that these types of documents analyzing supply chains in the defensive industries have so far been created only for the needs of the British government and NATO structure.
“We will be the third in the world. We focus on this because we want to see more (…) When this report is created, we will not only know how to build Poland's industrial sovereignty better, but also where we will be able to develop our competences, where there are gaps that we should fill and where we can replace external suppliers” – he said.
