Russia proposed Ukraine to conduct the next round of peace conversations on June 2 in Istanbul – said foreign minister Sergei Ławrow on Wednesday. He added that Moscow intends to hand over the Ukrainian Memorandum to a peace agreement there.

“The Russian side, according to the findings, quickly developed the relevant memorandum that determines our position on all aspects of reliable elimination of the causes of crisis,” said Lavrov, referring to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
He emphasized that the Russian delegation, led by Vladimir Miedinski, adviser to the Russian leader Vladimir Putin, “is ready to present the Memorandum of the Ukrainian side and give the necessary explanations during the second round of direct conversations in Istanbul on Monday.”
Earlier on Wednesday, Miedinski, who was the head of the Russian delegation during the first talks of Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul in mid -May, announced that Russia was waiting for a response in the matter of the date and place of the second round of conversations he proposed and the place of the second round, and expects Kiev to give her “as soon as possible.” He added that he talked about it on the phone with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rust Mountains.
“I called dying today and offered the exact date and meeting place to exchange memorands. We are ready to start a substantive discussion on each of the points of the agreement on the future suspension of weapons,” said Medinski.
On May 23, Lavrov announced that after the exchange of prisoners of war 1000 for 1000, which took place last weekend, Russia will be ready to transfer a draft document specifying its long -term peace agreement.
A few days earlier, Putin said that in a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, he declared that Russia would offer Ukraine a memorandum regarding the possible future peace treaty and is ready to cooperate in this matter with the Ukrainian side.
On May 16, in Istanbul, the first direct conversations between Russia and Ukraine delegations from the beginning of Russian aggression took place. Moscow and Kiev agreed to replace prisoners according to the 1000 formula for 1000, which was carried out last weekend. Negotiations, however, did not lead to an agreement on the suspension of weapons, and Moscow stated that certain conditions must be met before it was possible. (PAP)
