Marian Neacșu, Vice-President of the PSD, said on Monday that the party has not yet made a decision on the possibility of entering the government, but said about Ilie Bolojan that “it can be a feasible solution” for the position of prime minister, Agerpres reports.
Marian Neacșu said that the PSD has “some red lines that we will not pass.”
“We are waiting to have the discussions that, this week, the President of the Republic, just stated. We will find the necessary understanding.
Asked if a PSD will vote for a government led by Ilie Bolojan, Marian Neacșu said that “this is premature”.
“For now, we only discuss principles,” he added.
On the other hand, asked if Ilie Bolojan would be a good solution for the position of prime minister, the Social Democrat replied: “It can be a feasible solution.”
He suggested that a possible “reform” of the PSD is about will.
“If there is a desire to restore and reform at the party level, it can be done in opposition and power,” continued Marian Neacșu.
Ilie Bolojan, described by Nicușor Dan as the “first option” for the position of prime minister, taught the new president, on Monday, at the Cotroceni Palace, and returned to the Senate leadership.
In December 2024, after the parliamentary elections, Ilie Bolojan was appointed president of the Senate. From that position, in February 2025 he became interim president of Romania, after the resignation of Klaus Iohannis. Ilie Bolojan was interim president of Romania for 100 days.
