A wounded Ukrainian soldier, blocked for several days behind the Russian lines on the Sressk front, was saved by his comrades, who managed to send them with a drone an electric bicycle to run, Pravda reports.
The soldier in the 4th Battalion “Freedom forces”, known as “Tankist”, had lost three fighting colleagues, could not evacuate from his position and remained alone against the Russians. Although injured, the soldier resisted for five days, rejecting the attacks, the representatives of the “Freedom Forces” Battalion transmitted.
The distance to the position of the battalion was a kilometer and a half, and Tankist could not reach them due to constant attacks.
The soldier faced repeated attacks from the Russian infantry, but the battalion drones the forces of freedom offered aerial coverage, preventing the Russians from approaching.
“Every day I was surrounded, from all sides. I defended myself as much as I could,” said the soldier, adding that he was blocked there for about four to five days.
In order to save the soldier, the brigade decided to send a drone to transport a 40 -kilogram electric bicycle to its position.
The first drone carrying the bicycle was shot down, the second could not support the load and collapsed, but from the third attempt, the drone brought the electric bicycle to Tankist.
The soldier managed to leave his position, but 400 meters from the Ukrainian line, the electric bicycle hit a mine, triggering an explosion. The soldier survived, although he was injured.
He shook another 200 meters, before being met by his comrades and pulled into a safe place. Then the decision was made to deliver to the soldier injured a two electric bicycle, with which he went for 15 minutes until he arrived in a safe area and could be evacuated.
