Sorana Cîrstea announced a few minutes ago that she was forced to withdraw from Roland Garros, due to an injury. The 35-year-old tennis player, in the 164 WTA position, had to play the first match at the French Grand Slam tomorrow.

The Romanian was going to meet her in the inaugural round at Roland Garros against Tamara Korpatsch (30 years, 148 WTA), player from qualifications. But she had to give up participation because of a leg injury, as she even announced.

“Unfortunately I have to withdraw from Roland Garros because of a leg injury that I suffered a few weeks ago. I tried my best to be fit for the second Grand Slam of the year, but my body is not ready. I want to thank Roland Garros for all the help. I am very sad.Cârstea wrote on her Instagram page.
