Paprocka: Talks on the presidential debate broken

The head of the staff of Rafał Trzaskowski Wioletta Paprock said that the talks on the presidential debate before the second round were broken on the phone from the PiS staff. Earlier, PiS vice -member Mateusz Kurzejewski wrote that “TVP refuses to extend the debate to the Republic and WPOLSCE.PL”.

The head of the TVP communication department Tomasz Wiaderek, when asked about talks on the debate, told PAP that television does not comment on the matter yet.

The debate organized by TVP, TVN24 and Polsat before the second round of presidential elections is planned for Wednesday at 20.00. On Monday, the first meeting was held on its preparation. The talks were to be continued the next day.

Earlier on that day, PiS's deputy head Mateusz Kurzejewski, who participated in talks from the staff supported by PiS candidate Karol Nawrocki, wrote on X that “TVP in the liquidation of the director's lips (Grzegorz – PAP) Sajóra definitely refuses to extend the debate to television republika and wolsce.pl, and all other media representatives who are interested in it.” In his opinion, “this is a complete disrespect for viewers and voters.”

On Monday, the President of the Management Board of Telewizja Republika Tomasz Sakiewicz announced on portal X that his station intends to organize a separate debate on Wednesday at 18.00, if TVP does not agree to the participation of TV Republika.

Invitations to the debate of three television on May 21 were submitted on May 15 to all registered candidates applying for the position of president, with the proviso that it applies to representatives of those candidates who will take part in the second round of presidential elections. At that time, the organizational meeting of three stations and staffs was designated for Monday, May 19 at the headquarters of TVP.

On Sunday, in the first round of elections, Ko Rafał Trzaskowski, the candidate Rafał Trzaskowski won 31.36 percent. votes, and Karol Nawrocki, supported by PiS, 29.54 percent The turnout was 67.31 percent (PAP)
