He assisted in the assassination of Zelanski. Paweł K. suspected of cooperation with Russia's intelligence

There is an indictment against Paweł K., who reported readiness to act for Russia's military intelligence – the National Prosecutor's Office said on Tuesday. According to the investigation, the information of Paweł K. was to help in the possible assassination of the life of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelanski.

Paweł K. was detained on April 17, 2024 in Poland. At the request of the prosecutor, the court applied arrest against him. The investigation under the supervision of the Mazovian PZ PK was conducted by the Internal Security Agency.

Investigators found that Paweł K. reported readiness to act for the military intelligence of the Russian Federation and made contacts with the citizens of the Russian Federation who were directly involved in the war in Ukraine.

“His tasks included gathering and providing information on the security of the airport Airport Rzeszów-Jasionka. Actions were to help, among others, planning a possible assassination attempt by the Russian special services, i.e. the President of Ukraine, Wołodymyr Zelnski,” said Katarzyna Calas-Jaszewska from the National Prosecutor's Office.

She added that the notification of the possibility of committing a crime by Paweł K. was received by the National Prosecutor's Office from the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

She emphasized that during the investigation, Poland PK and ABW cooperated with the Prosecutor General of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine, which allowed the protection of the evidence and making significant findings of the investigation.

Paweł K. faces up to 8 years in prison. (PAP)
