Gold decided to challenge the result of the presidential elections of May 18, won by Nicușor Dan, confirmed party sources for Hotnews. In fact, George Simion sent to his supporters on Monday evening: “they will not accept, but I am a fighter, not a mule, nor a traitor.”

Nicușor Dan won the presidential elections with 6,168,642 votes (53.60%), while the gold leader, George Simion, obtained 5,339,053 votes (46.40%). At the second round of the presidential elections 2025 they voted over 11.6 million Romanians.

“I finished counting all the votes. I lost the second round of the presidential elections. I got over 5 million votes. My counter -candidate has won with an additional votes. We cannot accuse a significant manipulation of the ballots,” Simion said in English video intervention published on X.
