From June 1, 2025, employers employing people over the age of 50 can count on support of 50 percent. minimum wage – currently PLN 2333 gross per month. Subsidies will be paid for 12 or 24 months, depending on the age of the person employed.

According to Puls HR, a program has been coming into force from the next month, which provides for subsidies for companies employing people aged 50-65. Thanks to this, employers can count on support, which will amount to 50 percent. minimum salary and will be paid for a year or two years. The program aims to increase professional activity in this age group.

One condition must be met

To receive support, it is necessary to maintain employment of an employee throughout the entire co -financing period. In the event of earlier termination of the contract, the entrepreneur will be obliged to reimburse the entire amount with interest.

According to the program, it is part of the Act on the labor market and employment services implemented under the National Reconstruction Plan. His goal is to professional activation of people over 50. According to data from August 2024, in Poland there are 3.9 million passive people in working age, of which over 311,000 He receives a pension.

The encouragement can be useful

Experts point out that this is one of the more difficult groups for activation – they are often people who are outside the labor market for many years.

According to Andrzej Kubisiak, deputy director of the Polish Economic Institute, cited by pulshr.pl, such people are often discouraged from searching, which, however, should not block from attempts to activate them. The government is counting that the financial encouragement for companies will translate into increased employment in this age category.
