QIn the last days the weather has been colder than usual, so in the mountains it snowed and the snow layer came to pass 30 cm to the highest weather stations. In the country, the maximums will be 24 degrees Celsius in the coming days.

On Monday morning, the thickest layer of snow was at the weather station in the Călimani Mountains: 35 cm, and in Omu were 29 cm, the ANM data shows. At Bâlea Lac there were 17 cm of snow layer, and in the Tarcu Mountains, 10 cm. At the weather station in the Iezer Mountains the layer was 25 cm thick.

It snowed in the last days and under 1,500 m alt (for example at Păltiniș resort near Sibiu) and was extremely cold in the mountains, with minimums that reached -8.2 C in Călimani on May 12 and -8.7 C in Omu, on May 13.

At over 2,000 m alt there were days when the maxim was below the frost threshold.

On the morning of May 18, it was cool in many places in the country, and the minimums were under 2 degrees Celsius and at low altitudes.
