The BFMTV portal said on Tuesday that the police hour in Triel-Sur-Seine, about 35 km northwest of Paris, has been in force since the beginning of July and that it was already undermined by activists of organizations defending human rights.

Mer Cedric Aun stated in his ordinance that underage can stay alone on the street only when they have a written permit from parents containing a telephone number to the guardian. A similar document was required during the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the official, this unprecedented solution will help distinguish teenagers under the supervision of parents from those left alone. “This initiative aims to support parents and strengthen their authority in managing their children,” Mer assured in the ordinance.

Residents' opinions about the ban are divided. The Human Rights League (LDH) decided that the police hour for young people agree to the freedom of movement.

– It seems absolutely disproportionate to us. If the reason is only the impression that parents have a problem with controlling their children, there are other ways – said the head of LDH Nathalie Tehio. This organization, one of the oldest groups defending human rights, questioned the ban on a man in legal path.
