Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski on Sunday named Anatoli Krivonojko as the commander of Ukraine's Air Force, even on the day of this army.

“Today I called General Lieutenant Anatoli Krivonojko commander of the air forces of the Ukrainian army,” Zelenski announced on social media networks, according to EFE and Agerpres.

According to the Unian agency, Krivonojko has been interim commander of the Air Force. Zelenski at the dismissal of former commander Mikola Oleşciuk on August 30, 2024 by a presidential decree, in which he did not specify the reasons for dismissal.

“The most important thing is that the Ukrainian anti -aircraft and anti -aircraft defense continues to develop in full and effective coordination,” Zelenski added in his message, reminding that, starting this year, his country's air forces also benefit from the arrival of Mirage aircraft, of French manufacture.

“Only this year, Mirage aircraft arrived in Ukraine and are used. The F-16 aircraft fleet has been extended. Priorities have been established to integrate foreign equipment in the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” said the head of the Ukrainian state, referring to Western Western Plains received by Kiev.

According to Zelenski, one of Ukraine's “greatest achievements” in his defense against Russia's war of aggression is that “he did not allow the Russians to dominate his airspace.”

“This is the result of extraordinary work, heroism, dedication and professionalism demonstrated by many of our citizens,” Zelenski added, after publishing on social networks a congratulatory message. “We express our gratitude to all those who reject Russian attacks, destroy planes, rockets and enemy drones and make air attacks along the front line,” Zelenski wrote on his X account.
