“Two days before the election A group of Russian hackers operating on a telegram attacked the websites of Platforma Obywatelska. The pages of the left and PSL are also the goal” – Prime Minister Donald Tusk informs in social media.
He added on platform X that “services are conducting intensive activities in this matter. The attack continues“.
Earlier, more information on this subject was provided by the head of the prime minister's office. Jan Grabiec pointed out that “from 9 o'clock a DDOS attack on platform.org. The main PO page and an additional page – intended for campaign payments, were temporarily disabled.”
He added that there is cooperation with CERT NASK regarding the restoration of functionality.

In an interview with PAP, the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister explained that the attack “Through a large number of entering the page, it blocks access to it, makes it hanging and cannot function.”
The DDOS attack (Distributed Denial of Service) is a kind of cyber attack, which aims to block the operation of the server, service or network by overloading them with a huge number of queries from many sources at the same time. Unlike the ordinary DOS attack, DDOS attacks dispersed computers (often infected and forming so -called Botnet), which makes it difficult to detect and block.

The effect of the attack may be a slowdown in the operation of the service, no access for users or completely disabled the system. This is a serious threat to companies, institutions and websites.
