In cooperation with PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny (OD), work is underway on the new name of the company, Orlen said. The company assumes that the process will be completed in the coming months and that the result will be a common brand.

Business Insider Polska, citing its own findings, reported on Tuesday that “the PGNiG brand, under which natural gas is supplied to approximately 7 million customers, will soon become history.”
According to the portal, Orlen decided to build a new brand that will serve to consolidate the entire retail business of the group in Poland and on foreign markets, while the rebranding will start at the beginning of next year under a new name: MyOrlen.
Answering PAP's questions on Wednesday, Orlen emphasized that it “strives for a consistent visual identification of all companies that are part of the capital group.”
“Currently, in cooperation with, among others, PGNiG OD, intensive work is underway on a new name for the company, which will meet its challenges and be consistent with its strategic goals, building value and strengthening synergies within the Orlen Group,” the company said.
Orlen added that it assumes that this process will be completed in the coming months and that its final result will be a common brand.
At the same time, the company emphasized that the Orlen Group is consistently implementing the strategy until 2035 adopted at the beginning of the year and is “conducting advanced work aimed at full integration of companies and assets” – they cover all areas of the company's operations, including the “dynamically developing Consumers & Products segment”.
“The effect of the undertaken activities will be the maximum use of the possibilities of this area and the further development of a comprehensive offer for customers,” Orlen explained. He recalled that the changes had already been communicated since the beginning of the year in connection with the strategy, which assumed the construction of one strong entity for the entire retail area of the concern.
Everything in one application – the refueling one
Part of this change – as Orlen pointed out – “is the creation of an energy marketplace based on the Vitay application.” The company noted that so far it has implemented, among others: common login for PGNIG OD and Energa Obrót, as well as for Orlen. He said that at the turn of the year all services, including Orlen Charge, will be available in the Orlen Vitay application.
“As a result, this will strengthen the Group's competitiveness in the demanding market environment. PGNIG OD will continue its core business, supplying gas to its customers,” the company emphasized.
Orlen, as part of the construction of a multi-energy concern, merged with PGNiG in November 2022.
PGNiG OD is an entity of the Orlen Group that sells natural gas in Poland. In 2024, the company reported that its services were used by approximately 7 million individual customers and small, medium and large enterprises.
When announcing the updated strategy of the Orlen Group at the beginning of this year, the company announced that “by 2035, it will double the number of active users of the Vitay system to 10 million and finalize the process of integrating retail sales of fuels and energy into one entity.”
Orlen then emphasized that the “integrated Consumers & Products segment” will allow it to provide customers with a “comprehensive multi-energy offer, available on the Vitay platform”.
The Orlen Group is a multi-energy concern that has refineries in Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania and a network of car fuel stations, including in Germany, Slovakia, Hungary and Austria. It also develops the crude oil and natural gas extraction segment, the petrochemical segment, and the energy segment, including renewable energy sources.
The Orlen Group also plans to develop nuclear energy based on small, modular SMR reactors. (PAP)
