He said that the level of delegation sent by the Russians to talks with Ukraine – delegation chaired by Putin's former Minister of Culture Vladimir Miedinskij – gives no reason to hope for serious negotiations.
– We are not going to, we are not chasing it all over the world anymore. It has already happened […]but we came because we were told that there could be direct conversations between the Russians and Ukrainians. That was the original plan. You've all heard the same. It will not happen, and if so, not at the level at which we hoped – said Rubio.
– I hope I'm wrong. I hope that they will reach a huge breakthrough tomorrow if they talk. But to be honest, I don't believe that we will reach a breakthrough until President Trump is face to face with President Putin and will not determine what his intentions for the future are – he added.
