The Romanian Television (TVR) announces, in a press release, that the electoral debate that was scheduled for Friday, at 7 pm, will no longer be organized, specifying that the gold leader and the candidate of the qualified formation in the presidential final did not confirm the participation.
“The Romanian Television notes that, until now, no definitive and unequivocal confirmation of Mr. George Simion was received at the electoral debate scheduled for May 16, 2025, at 7 pm, at the Cotroceni Palace,” the public television station transmitted.
“Moreover, today's Aur Party's communication represents an interference in the Editorial Independence of SRTV, as guaranteed by law. As a result of the above and under these non -permitted conditions by a political actor, TVR announces that the scheduled debate for tomorrow, May 16, 2025, 7:00 pm,” will not take place. “
In the statement, TVR also states:
