The median liability prices in Poland exceeded PLN 700 in April 2025 – according to the data of the Ranekkomat.pl website. The increases affected the youngest drivers without experience, in which the median exceeded 2.6 thousand. zloty. The safest drivers according to insurers are 60-year-olds.

In April, the median prices of the mandatory liability insurance policy amounted to PLN 701. It was thus by 11 percent. And nominally by PLN 69 higher than a year ago. Although the increase in prices clearly slowed down – a year ago, the increase in analogously y/y was over 23 percent. – Current rates are the highest since 2018.

Cumulative increase compared to April 2023 amounted to 37 percent. Nominally the median rates paid for OC increased by nearly PLN 200.

However, the increase was not the same for individual age groups of drivers. For insurers, 60-year-olds are still a group of lowest risk. The lowest median price – PLN 578 – was recorded in the case of drivers who were 61 years old at the time of the OC. In their case, the increase in less than 5 percent.

Insurance companies for the compulsory OC policy were most wished from 19-year-olds, in which the median was PLN 2,619 and was nearly 25 percent. and nominally by PLN 500 higher than in the same month 2024.

Penalties for the lack of liability insurance

The amount of minimum gross wage, i.e. PLN 4,666, will be paid by owners of passenger cars, for which the OC policy will be invalid from 4 to 14 days. If the policy expired a maximum of three days earlier, the penalty will be 40 percent. minimum gross wage, i.e. PLN 1866.

Higher penalties were also provided for truck owners, buses and car tractors. In their case, the lack of a liability insurance policy will result in penalties of: PLN 13,998 (over 14 days), PLN 6999 (from 4 to 14 days) and PLN 2800 (below 4 days).
