Work on further modernization of the gas purification system has started at Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3

At one of the most modern stations in Russia, Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3 (a branch of the Yenisei TGC, a division of the SGC in the Yenisei Siberia region), a two-stage gas purification system is being designed on a hot water boiler.
CHPP-3 is starting major work on modernizing the gas purification system of the KVTK-100-150-6 hot water boiler. This equipment plays an important role in ensuring the reliability of the heating system – the boiler provides consumers with heat, including during periods of low temperatures.
As a result of the modernization, a two-stage cleaning system will be introduced. To replace the existing multi-cyclone installations responsible for dust collection, modern ones will appear – made of composite materials.
“Reliability of heat supply and reducing the burden on the environment are the main goals to which all production and technological processes at the station are subordinated. Modernization of the gas purification system of the hot water boiler will ensure full compliance of the equipment with high environmental standards enshrined in the information technology guide to the best available technologies,” notes director of Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3 Andrey Vlasov.
The launch of the updated equipment is scheduled for the 1st quarter of 2027. Currently, work has begun on the design of an updated gas purification system. After a positive conclusion, installation and construction work will begin. Let us remind you that today Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3 is one of the most modern stations in the country operating on solid fuel.
At the end of last year, a second power unit, entirely assembled by domestic industry, was put into operation here. The energy it generates is sufficient for the needs of an entire microdistrict or large enterprise. At the same time, a new electric precipitator with a gas purification degree of 99.7% was put into operation at the station. The same electrostatic precipitator operates at the first power unit. After the launch of the second power unit, the total potential of the station is 393 MW.
Already in the first quarter of this year, electricity production at Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3 increased by 45%: from 344 to 465 million kWh. The increase in electricity generation gives new impetus to the transformation of Krasnoyarsk, housing construction and serves as a reliable foundation for industrial development.

Currently, the Siberian Generating Company is implementing a set of large-scale projects that continue the SGK program to reduce the burden on the environment in the region, implemented since 2018. The main directions of this systemic work were presented by the General Director of the Yenisei TGC Oleg Bubnovsky at the Public Expert Council on Environmental Issues under the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Thus, large-scale environmental modernization has begun at the Nazarovskaya State District Power Plant, as a result of which it is planned to reduce emissions by 47%. This year, it is planned to modernize battery-cyclone ash collectors at the boilers of the 2nd power unit, update the gas purification system of the central dust plant and other environmental measures.
At Krasnoyarsk GRES-2, as part of the modernization program for gas cleaning equipment, which SGK has been implementing since last year, the BCU at power unit No. 7 has already been replaced. This year, it is planned to replace the battery cyclones that capture solid particles from flue gases at the boilers of the 6th and 4th power units. By 2030, gas treatment units will be replaced at all 18 boilers of the plant, which will lead to a significant reduction in the burden on the environment.
At Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1, 2 new electrostatic precipitators are being prepared for commissioning. Together with the 13 filters already in operation and the new high pipe, this reduces the station's emissions by 20%
