In 2026, after changing the “Moj Prąd” program, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management wants to launch a program from which photovoltaic owners will be able to receive subsidies for the purchase of energy storage facilities, Dorota Zawadzka-Stępniak, president of the Fund, told PAP.

– Currently, we do not have plans to support large-scale energy storage facilities for 2026, but after the evaluation of “Moje Prąd” we want to support home energy storage facilities and we will want to launch such a program – announced the head of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

End of the “My Pr” stage“The market photovoltaics it is already ripe

Subsidies for home energy storage, in addition to support for the purchase of photovoltaic panels, were introduced in the fourth edition of the “Moj Prąd” program and were continued in subsequent editions. The last, sixth one, ended in September 2025 due to budget exhaustion. The warehouses were included in the program to increase self-consumption of energy by prosumers. To receive a subsidy from “Moim Prąd” there was no obligation to install storage facilities. The exception were PV installations submitted for connection after August 1, 2024.

– The program was an impulse for the development of prosumer energy, and only thanks to it we have over six hundred thousand prosumers in Poland (over 1.5 million in total – PAP). The question is whether further public intervention is needed. The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management initiates certain changes and enters areas that are at the initial stage of development. If a certain market segment is already advanced and developed, then public intervention is not justified – said Zawadzka-Stępniak.

KPO and Modernization Fund – skwhere will the money flow?

The president added that for now “we do not know the details of financing yet”, but noted that home storage facilities may be financed from the KPO as well as the Modernization Fund (FM). – As for the second source, it will take some time. First, a program potentially financed from FM must be prepared and its fiche must be submitted for EIB approval. Then the EIB accepts it or not. This is not the stage yet to talk about financing the program from this fund – said the head of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

Zawadzka-Stępniak did not rule out that there may be a “quick” support program for the purchase of photovoltaic installationswhich will result, for example, from the need to use funds from the KPO. In June, the head of the Ministry of FiPR announced that the European Commission had consented to the extension and settlement of the KPO investment until the end of 2026; previously it was the end of August 2026.

Balance Sheeteighth edition: exhausted budthat and thousands of applicationsthat

The sixth edition of the “Moj Prąd” program started on September 2, 2024. The deadline for submitting applications was extended several times, and the budget was increased. The call for applications was to be conducted until October 31, 2025 or until funds are exhausted. Initially, PLN 400 million was allocated for this edition of the program, later the budget was increased to PLN 1.25 billion. At the beginning of March 2025, another PLN 600 million was added and ultimately the program budget amounted to PLN 1.85 billion from the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment program. In the recruitment process that has ended, over 124.2 thousand applications were submitted. conclusions.

So far, over 602,000 beneficiaries have benefited from all editions of the “Moj Prąd” program (the first recruitment started in 2019) and received funding worth PLN 3.6 billion. (PAP)
