The Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjarto, spoke about relations with Romania, on Monday, and said that the Budapest government “always pursues the best possible cooperation with a country in which a huge Hungarian ethnic community lives, because the last years have shown for everyone that when Hungary and a good country, it is best for Hungary MTI, according to Agerpres.

In his press conference on Monday, Minister Peter Szijjarto said that the Hungarian government will not accept any decrease in the rights of the Hungarian ethnicity and will firmly take a position for the Hungarian ethnicity in Transylvania and the Szekler County, regardless of who will be the negotiation partner.

The Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs said that all steps will be coordinated with the Hungarian Democratic Union in Romania (UDMR), as it represents the local Hungarian ethnic.

The leader of the UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, said last week that for him “the only priority is to win Nicușor Dan” the presidential final with George Simion. On the official Facebook page, the UDMR posted the following message: “It depends on us, the Hungarians! If Simion will become a president, it will be a tragedy.
